PRESS: 1C, Galaktika to jointly rival foreign soft in defense

MOSCOW, Jul 31 (PRIME) -- Russian developers of business management systems 1C and Galaktika have set up a joint venture on a parity basis to distribute products among enterprises of the defense industry complex, business daily Vedomosti reported on Tuesday.

Galaktika Chairman Dmitry Chernykh said that the defense industry complex has a primary need in replacing imported products, and 1C-Galaktika will compete with foreign developers.

At present, 1C-Galaktika sells, integrates, and supports the already existing products of 1C and Galaktika. Some enterprises use programs of 1C for some tasks and programs of Galaktika for others, Chernykh said, adding that the joint venture will improve effectiveness of automation.

Meanwhile, the developers will do the most part of the business separately, he said.
